Telethons

Variety of Israel - Telethon 2007
Staying true to its show business roots, Variety the Children’s Charity has a long-standing practice of using television to reach out to the hearts of thousands of Variety members and supporters worldwide. Each Telethon provides a chance to highlight the many charitable organizations supported by a Variety Tent as well as the many sponsors and volunteers that make the work of Variety possible.
This television exposure allows members as well as celebrity supporters the opportunity to bring attention to the real stars
– Variety’s children – by literally casting a spotlight on the real-life stories of some of the amazing children that Variety assists.

“Our mission is to inspire hope, enrich lives, and build a better future for children,” said Barbie Hislop, Executive Director of Variety of British Columbia, Canada. “I think that when we can provide a child with moments like this, we are helping every bit as much as any medicine or therapy.”
